Can you imagine that someone thought it would be fun to create a kid’s toy based on bed bugs?
Bed Bugs was the creation of Milton Bradley, released into stores in 1985. The game consisted of a motorized bed with a man lying under the covers.
The plastic bed bugs, in red, blue, yellow and green would jump around thanks to the motorized bed, and four players would take their colour-coded tweezers to grab the bugs.
The player to grab the most bugs would win the round. This motorized catch and carry game’s tagline was “It will drive you buggy!”
But really, making bed bugs a board game? Memorable but perhaps not the best kids’ toy idea of the 1980s.
