I like how the artist worked around the window – so that although its right in the middle of the creature, it doesn’t distract from the amorphous blob and his tasty treat.
Surrounded by tags, I like the energy of the train coming out of the wall.

There is something very majestic about animals – and the grafitti artist(s) who created these may have taken liberty in their interpretation, but certainly the beauty and power is still there. These three are all part of a large wall space which has traditional grafitti script and these depictions from the wilderness. Seen at Bloor [...]

I’m a long admirer of grafitti art – seeking it out behind buildings and in alleys and occasionally in contemporary art galleries. On this occasion I got a sneak peek into the creative side. I spotted the tools of the trade:
And more tools (missing the very strong aerosol scent of paint hanging heavy in the air) and carefully [...]

Sometimes a friend’s visit is the best thing to spark the desire to explore a neighbourhood. I used to live in the Annex for several years, and there was some interesting grafitti, but had never taken the time to stroll down the alleys – until a friend spotted something interesting and we ended up finding [...]

My friend Kurt from Chicago came to visit Toronto and during our meeting told me about spotting some unique grafitti in the city’s west end neighbourhood, Dundast St. West near High Park. I had also seen glimpses of the grafitti from the subway and we hatched a plan to head west and check it out [...]

Cabbagetown is a small neighbourhood just east of my home, and I often go there for my hardware, health food and bakery needs. I walk by this wall mural, at the corner of Carlton and Parliament, all the time, and finally had my camera with me to take a snap. I love the way the [...]

This is one of several images painted in an alley in downtown Toronto – the vividness of the colours caught my eye, and although I’m not quite sure what the image represents, I love the energy and rawness of it. To me it represents a part of the city that residents don’t get to see, [...]

I spotted this face wandering around Valparaiso, Chile, and her happy face radiated from the wall, which was in an industrial area. I’ve always loved the power of art, and grafitti especially, to speak volumes without words, no matter the location.
